My favourite holiday place

Most people go on holiday in summer, when the weather is hot and sunny.

We usually travel to Dubrovnik, which is a beautiful seaside town in the south of Croatia.

We always travel by car, it takes about  10 hours to get there. We usually book an apartment in advance, so we do not have to look for accommodation when we arrive.

I like to travel light, I pack a couple of T-shirts, dresses, bikinis and sandals for the trip. You don’t need pullovers or coats because it is always very hot in Dalmatia.

When we are on holiday, we get up at 9 o’clock. We have breakfast on the balcony. We drink some coffee and orange juice and eat fruits and cereals or croissants. We spend the mornings on the beach, where we can sunbathe, swim in the sea, read a good book or just sit back and relax. We go back to the apartment at noon, then have a light lunch on the balcony. We go back to the beach after 3 pm when the sun is not so strong. In the evenings we eat out, there are many excellent restaurants where you can eat seafood. I usually order fish fillet and a salad.

After a couple of days I get a bit homesick, so I usually look forward to going back home. Travel east or travel west, home is always the best.

The Park's 136 bedrooms are decorated in a fresh country house style. Each one features a trouser press, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone with voice mail, radio, television with Sky TV, air conditioning/fan and many have a safe, fax and modem points, teletext television and ironing centre. In the gallery are five smaller areas, each suitable for six people, where different TV programs and sports videos can be viewed.

Unrivalled in Cardiff for its conference, exhibition and banqueting facilities, The Park's ten refurbished meeting rooms have natural light and high ceilings, and some have air-conditioning. The largest rooms can each seat 300, whilst five smaller rooms have been specifically designed for boardroom meetings, presentations and private dining.
